Overview
Archive NoteThis enormous pipe organ was completed in 1930 for Atlantic City's former Convention Hall, now Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall. It was designed for a large multipurpose civic auditorium, with pipe divisions installed around the building.
Guinness records 33,112 pipes, 1,477 stop controls and two consoles. These figures describe different parts of the instrument; the record here specifically compares pipe counts rather than stops, keyboards or audible volume.
The Boardwalk Hall restoration project continues to return sections of the instrument to working order. As the organ is only partially operational, its historic installed pipe total must not be misrepresented as the number currently playable.
