Overview
Archive NoteVeryovkina is a complex karst cave in the Gagra Mountains of Abkhazia, with a succession of deep shafts and narrow passages that require extensive rope-supported expeditions.
The March 2018 expedition led by Pavel Demidov and Ilya Turbanov recorded a depth of 2,212 metres. Nearby Krubera Cave is another cave deeper than two kilometres, and future surveys may change comparative rankings.
