Overview

Archive Note

Shoaiba is a Red Sea coastal production base developed through several phases with different desalination technologies, supplying freshwater to western Saudi communities.

A December 2023 record assessment lists a combined nominal production capacity of 2.998 million m³/day across eight facilities. Since this aggregates several installations, it should not be confused with the capacity of one individual reverse-osmosis plant or with an actual day's output.

The record conclusion has sufficient verification support.

Basis: direct confirmation by an authority

Guinness lists the Shoaiba desalination production complex at a combined 2,998,000 m³/day across eight plants, with verification in December 2023. This is aggregate nominal capacity for a multi-plant complex, not measured daily output or a single membrane plant. The achievement date is not established by the verification date.
