Overview
Archive NoteThe facility was constructed on the existing Sihwa seawall. Incoming high tides drive turbines as seawater enters the lake, producing electricity with a one-way flood-generation cycle.
K-water notes the project's dual purpose of energy generation and improving circulation in Sihwa Lake. Initial operation began in August 2011, with later construction and commercial-operation milestones.
