Overview
Archive NoteThe LSST Camera is the core scientific camera of the NSF–DOE Vera C. Rubin Observatory and was led by SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.
Its focal plane uses 189 science CCD sensors with a total resolution of about 3.2 billion pixels, or 3,200 megapixels.
The camera is now installed at Rubin Observatory on Cerro Pachón in Chile and is operating as part of the sky survey.
