Overview
Archive NoteThe Three Gorges Power Station stands at Sandouping, Yichang, Hubei Province, in the middle section of the Xiling Gorge on the Yangtze.
Its first unit began generating on 10 July 2003 and all 34 units were fully commissioned in July 2012.
In 2020 the station generated 111.8 billion kWh, a world record for annual output from a single hydropower station.
