Overview

Archive Note

The minaret stands at the western end of the Great Mosque of Algiers, separate from its principal prayer hall and visible from the Mediterranean coast. Construction of the complex took place from 2012 to 2019.

The wider mosque complex covers approximately 400,000 m², with a prayer hall of around 20,000 m². Those figures concern area rather than minaret height and are distinct from the existing mosque-area record.
