Overview
Archive NoteThe WTO's merchandise-trade series measures the value of exported goods and excludes commercial services such as travel and finance. Gross export value is not a trade surplus or domestic value added.
The WTO's March 2026 report records China's 2025 goods exports at approximately US$3.77 trillion, up 5.5% in value. It also reports China's average share of world merchandise exports at about 14.4% over the preceding three years, indicating a continuing position of scale rather than a one-off annual ranking.
The WTO attributes the 2025 export performance in part to stronger sales in Asia, Europe and several emerging markets, offsetting weaker exports to some destinations. This record ranks total merchandise-export value, not export growth or volume.
