Overview
Archive NoteThe Bailong Elevator stands alongside a quartz sandstone cliff in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Its glass-sided passenger cabins connect lower visitor routes with the elevated scenic area.
Guinness records the total outdoor elevator structure as 326 metres high, of which an upper section measuring 171.4 metres stands above ground along the cliff. These are different measures from the ride distance or the visible cabin section.
The facility opened to the public in May 2002, while a Guinness certificate presentation took place in 2015. The opening month is used as the record's initial operating period, rather than the date of the later news story.
