Deepest Point in the Ocean
The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) states that Challenger Deep, at the southern end of the Mariana Trench in the western Pacific Ocean, is the deepest part of the ocean at approximately 10,935 metres.

NOAA's 10,935 m figure comes from a study published in 2021 based on 2020 survey data; historical measurements have ranged from about 10,900 m to 10,994 m.
The depth exceeds the elevation of Mount Everest by roughly 2,100 m.
