Overview
Archive NoteThe Arabian Peninsula occupies southwestern Asia, bordered by the Red Sea to the west, the Arabian Sea to the south, and the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman to the east.
It spans multiple countries and territories, and its area should not be confused with the land area of Saudi Arabia alone. Deserts and plateaus dominate much of its landscape.
The boundaries of a geographical peninsula are not always as precisely codified as political borders, so the published approximate area is retained without inventing greater precision.
